Happy 18 Months: Say Cheese!

Abby: do not get any closer, baby brother.

Abby: didn't I tell you not to get any closer? It's good you feed me.

Chocolate!

Brooke comes to play - yeehaw!

Another good dinner party ends pantless - chocolate everywhere!

Tad turned 18 months old last weekend and recently picked up on the concept of "saying cheese" for a photo. This usually involves Tad squinting his eyes and an over-exaggerated smile that cracks us up. Tad is motoring around rather quickly these days and keeping us entertained with his growing vocabulary. His favorite words include horse, duck, woof woof, apple (used to refer to all round shaped objects), Kroger (clearly we are losers and need to go more places than the grocery store), turkey, daddy and truck (Tad's all time favorite word, which is usually followed by the audio of a truck driving).

Welcome Henry Joseph Bowles!

Welcome to the world, Henry! The newest Gaffney cousin arrived on November 2, 2010 and is a wonderful addition to the Bowles brood. Not to be overshadowed by the older boys, he was the biggest cousin yet, weighing in at 7 pounds, 15 1/2 ounces and was 18 inches long. Henry looks just like Coop did as a newborn and is a cute pudgy, snuggly baby. It is hard to believe that Coop, Brady and Tad were each once this small.

Cooper and Brady are very proud of Henry and such sweet, big brothers. I took a quick trip to Nashville last weekend to meet Henry and spend a night with the Bowles. Much to Coop & B's disappointment, I came without Uncle Johnny and Tad. I woke up Sunday morning to Brady letting me know, "Aunt Kate, I want Uncle Johnny". We are all looking forward to spending Christmas in Nashville with the Bowles and, of course, Santa Claus!!

Trick or Treat!

Lightning McQueen's Pit Crew, a giraffe and a cow.

Peeking in the pumpkin.

Johnny's 2nd Annual Tad look-a-like pumpkin carving contest.

The giggling Boukaters.

Cow, keep your paws off the giraffe's pumpkin.

Bryce and Brooke in action.

Moooooo! Tad dressed as a cow for his second Halloween. We kicked off the afternoon at our neighborhood Halloween party and then trick-or-treated with the Boukaters. Brooke and Tad had a great time cruising around the neighborhood in the wagon while Bryce showed the little kids how it's done.

Sweet Tooth

Tad definitely inherited my rather large sweet tooth. Grammy captured this great photo of Tad immediately after he tried his first M&M Sugar Cookie, courtesy of Grammy and Pop. Tad couldn't contain his excitement - Yum!

The Apple Patch with Grammy & Pop

That is not a typo - Tad is convinced that the correct word for pumpkin is apple. It has made for an interesting Halloween season - he likes to point out the apple outside everyone's house and whenever he hears the word pumpkin, he responds with "apple". Grammy and Pop were with us for Halloween weekend and Tad had a great time with them, including a trip to Berry Patch Farm in Woodstock. He loved the tractor, animals, wagon ride and, of course, all the apples.
